Business Development Manager

Reports to: President & CEO, Moxē

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

  1. Lead Generation

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. IMAGE
    1. Ensures a quality image both internally and externally at all times.
    2. Represents agency at professional/business/community groups
  2. PLANNING & BUDGETING
    1. Provides accurate new business revenue forecasts for each trimester, broken out by each practice area.
    2. Collaborates with CEO on utilization models to ensure high levels of customer service
  3. GROWTH OF BUSINESS
    1. Generate new business revenue by managing leads and leading a structured sales process.
  4. CUSTOMER SERVICE
    1. Deliver high-quality service to internal and external customers.
  5. TEAM MEMBER DEVELOPMENT
    1. Seek out opportunities for continuous improvement.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  1. IMAGE
    1. Represent the agency well at all times.
    2. Actively advocate for the agency and introduce prospects to the agency’s capabilities and its Team Members.
  2. PLANNING & BUDGETING
    1. Support agency marketing initiatives
    2. Develop and nurture sales leads
    3. Lead sales process, including proposal & presentation development
    4. Collaborate with CEO on contract negotiations
    5. Successfully transition closed prospects to ongoing clients
    6. Develop a weekly lead generation activity and pipeline status report whose highlights may be consolidated into a monthly report.
  3. GROWTH OF BUSINESS
    1. Actively generate new leads into CRM.
    2. Manage agency’s CRM-tool, with primary responsibility for data quality
    3. Prospect for potential clients using various methods such as calling, face to face meetings, and networking.
    4. Perform competitive intelligence audits against competing agencies and actively sell against those competitors.
    1. Cultivate successful long-term relationships with organizations to further establish Moxē as a trusted agency
    2. Negotiate proposal and budget with client, making modifications as necessary and arranging for contract.
    3. Support agency’s marketing plan and strategy, partnering with other practice area leaders to ensure proper execution against goals.
    4. Lead branstorming sessions related to business development.
  1. CUSTOMER SERVICE
    1. Deliver high-quality service to internal and external customers.
    2. Support delivery of client service on an as needed basis.
  2. TEAM MEMBER DEVELOPMENT
    1. Facilitates regular sales training for Team Members
    2. Actively seek out professional development opportunities for self and others, particularly in the area of sales/business development.
LIMITS OF AUTHORITY: All limitations prescribed in the Massey Policies & Procedures manual.

Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  2. At least 3-5 years of proven sales or business development environment
  3. Experience working as an advertising, public relations, digital marketing or creative services professional a plus.
  4. High energy and always looking to improve, learn and grow
  5. Excellent time management and organizational skills
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to give sales presentations.
  7. Self-starter who takes action without being instructed
  8. Proven approach to creating a strategy, writing proposals and making presentations
  9. Strong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented and solution-focused personality
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Proven experience closing $500,000/year+ in professional services, preferably in marketing, advertising, public relations or a related field.
  2. Experience managing a CRM and running e-mail/lead nurturing campaigns.
  3. Excellent Micosoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

Requires limited walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping and stretching.  Requires constant ability to move freely about the office building and between job sites.  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Requires constant contact with the public, clients and company personnel. Office work is performed in air conditioned/heated facility.
